THE COPERTO IN ITALY
In Italy, the coperto — the cover charge — has ancient roots: as far back as the Middle Ages, taverns and inns would ask for it in exchange for a properly set table, with a clean cloth, bread, and plates. It was a small contribution that gave value to the welcome, before the food even arrived.
Today this gesture lives on as a symbol of attentive hospitality. At MUUR, we have chosen to give it a more tangible meaning: each guest will find at their place a small plate with artisan bread — turmeric and sun-dried tomato — accompanied by extra virgin olive oil from our own farm, poured at the table. A simple welcome, made of good and genuine things.
The cover charge applies exclusively to lunch and dinner.
